First steps in Oxford
The moving went well, and unpacking my several boxes didn't take too long. I'm getting use to share a house with 2 others. The rules are not too strict and the house is amazing! just by the Thames river, with a small garden where I have diner while listening to the various ducks, gooses or swans.
Social event with my new co-workers was great, going down the river on a big boat on a sunny day, while drinking rosé, and stopping to pubs along the way is obviously pleasant!
I'm discovering the city, trying to memorize the names and locations of the 39 colleges. I love the way you can find hidden pathways and see cows in the middle of town, have a beer in a pub founded in 1242 and then be back to the crowded streets.
So far, i'm really happy to be here.
Last day
Yesterday was my last day as a postdoc.
It was strange hanging around the corridors, to realise that if I'll probably come again, it will only be as a visitor and not as a part of the team anymore.
I met many nice persons that I'm going to miss, saying good bye last night was tough.
Hopefully, getting drunk with the french team made things much easier!
AHHHHHHHHHHHH
I finally signed the contract for my new job.
Things are changing very fast.
I'll be in Oxford from the 1st of september, and i'm leaving academia.
This is so exciting!
Ahem
Ginger Ale made an album in 2006, Daggers Drawn.
dEUS new album was out on the 21th April 2008, Vantage point
too much pressure
Time is flying, and things are somehow getting worse. It seems that 2008 is the year for cancer for the people I care about. it's not the sort of thing you are happy to share.
and when it is not about death and sickness, it's about making choices for the future.
and although it is exciting to imagine a new life, a new town, a new job maybe, it is also challenging and scary.
still, good things happen, spring is on its way, so....
